Welcome to the maypolecentre

The Centre reopened in July 2002 following a 6-month major refurbishment. The past couple of years have been really exhilarating for us, with added funding we have began to develop some groundbreaking programmes, which are beginning to get national acknowledgement. The capital work was funded by SRB5, which is a government regeneration programme. The work is part of a wider citywide programme in 6 pilot areas. Druids Heath was chosen as an area for investment because of the hard work and good relationships between the different agencies in the area and the active role the members of the community play in both shaping and delivering our services.

We are really pleased with the way that the Centre has been transformed; we can now deliver even better services in top rate conditions. The Centre has been transformed and many thanks must go to the Funders, the architects and contractors, in particular Linda Martin and her team at Quattro for helping us to transmit our dreams into reality. Many of us at the Centre have worked and/or lived in Druids Heath for a long time I think that in some way this investment is a testament to the hard work of staff and the community over the years.

Finally we still think that we may be the first Youth & Community Centre to launch on to the World Wide Web. If not then leave us your address.

This is exciting; it gives us the opportunity to showcase the work that we are involved in. We hope all sorts of people will use this site; managers and Funders can keep up to date with our activities, young people can check us out and show their friends what they have been doing, other members of the community can keep an eye on us. We hope that the site will give people a chance to communicate with us and with each other, use our e-mail to tell us what you think, what you would like to do. There will always be something new.

Finally 'all thanks' to John Connor, our Michelangelo, our Webmaster. You should mail him and say well done.

You could also think about giving him vast sums of money to develop this work!
Thanks for visiting, please visit again.
