Many young people have views about what they want in their community and some decide to do something about it.
The MAG report details how concerns about the anti-social behaviour bill and the feelings of intolerance to young people lead a group to research what is was that the young people of Druids Heath actually wanted. Over 140 young people were interviewed, and the group are now making presentations to persuade adults with influence to invest in free standing accessible facilities for young people.
This was featured in an edition of Youth Action.
Other young people are involved in the Maypole as young leaders in play and youth work providing excellent role models for the next generation. All are working towards a future.
Too often we see young people demonized as gangs, as substance mis-users, as being anti-social, please remember they are our sons and daughters and the future of our community.
On the November 12, 2003 young people from the Maypole centre in Birmingham talked about the Antisocial Behaviour Bill. View the ' Am I Antisocial? Documentary' by clicking here and selecting either the Flash version or Quicktime version.
