Wednesday 15th June 2005 the innov8 team took a 2 hour journey to London to visit the House of Lords where they presented a combination of programmes that the Maypole centre do for the young people round Maypole, there were 7-8 other youth groups from other areas there, showing us what programs they do.

We had our very own tour of the whole House of Lords we saw paintings of the Tudors; we visited the room that the queen wears her robe and crown. We also saw the room where the lord’s debate on issues with each other. Our local mp Steve McCabe was also there to see our presentation.

From the House of Lords we went on the London eye which was a very scary experience for a few of us. It lasted 40 minutes but we seen a lot of London’s well known and famous buildings.

We walked through Downing Street to Trafalgar square where we had a water fight which was really funny for the youth workers to watch. We also walked across the Millennium Bridge which was very high above water. We had lunch at McDonald and then had some fun in the arcade.

We had several trips on the underground tube to different places around London and going back to the station to travel back home on Chiltern railway train. We had a really nice day out and feel that we have achieved a lot by showing other youth centres our cd and our articles on our projects.
